Chapter 9: Public Health

On the OpenSecrets.org website, a not for profit organization, they explain in detail the amounts of money spent on lobbying in the USA by the various industries.

Is lobbying something we need to pay attention to? Definitely!

On their website, they explain their mission as follows (emphasis mine):

Nonpartisan, independent and nonprofit, the Center for Responsive Politics is the nation's premier research group tracking money in U.S. politics and its effect on elections and public policy. OUR VISION...

Public health departments like Health and Human Services (HHS), and its subordinate agencies (the FDA, CDC, NIH, etc) strive to improve the American population's health. Right?

HHS is the highest level of government for all things related to health. If you read HHS' mission statement, and the mission statements of the FDA, CDC, and NIH, the take away message is that these federal agencies are in place to ensure that public health is protected. These agencies use their vas...

You have learned that creating health is NOT the goal of any of the federal public health agency. (Ch9: Part 2) In 1984, HHS made it clear in their meeting minutes that maximum vaccine uptake is one of their mandated goals. Because of that goal, HHS explained that concerns about vaccine safety, "whether or not well founded," "cannot be allowed to exist."

In 1986, Congress enacted the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, an act which granted vaccine makers immunity from...

In Ch2: Part 2, I introduced you to David Graham, the FDA whistleblower. Remember his interview, where he explained the FDA structural make-up is biased favouring pharmaceutical company interests. He stated (emphasis mine):

As currently configured, the FDA is not able to adequately protect the American public. It's more interested in protecting the interests of industry. It views industry as its client, and the client is someone whose interest you represent. Unfortunately, that is the way the FDA...

If you think Health Canada does a better job than the American HHS or FDA, at being more thorough, transparent or unbiased when monitoring drugs and vaccines, or regulating those products, think again. In Canada, we have repeatedly followed in the footsteps of the FDA, and in addition to that, we have also implemented legislation that creates a veil of secrecy to protect industry from the public. You read that correct. Though it is assumed that Health Canada is supposed...

Watch Robert F Kennedy Jr say the above quote Here

It is normal for government officials to leave government and move into prominent positions within the private sector.

For the average lay person, this may seem like "Not a big deal," but this situation can pose a serious issue. Some private positions pay handsomely, and if you're in government, your job may regulate that industry, and/or conduct research (which may negatively affect that industry). If your position requires you to regulate...

You recently learned that HHS is the defendant in vaccine court. (Ch9: Part 3) Despite legislation requiring HHS to conduct a safety audit reports every two years since 1987, to continually improve the safety of vaccines, HHS has refused to do this work. HHS has never prepared and submitted a single safety audit report to congress. In contrast to that, HHS has spent billions of dollars promoting vaccines and has published numerous reports detailing how to improve vaccine uptake. Because HHS is t...

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is concluding their “Decade of Vaccines” 2011-2020. In 2010 they pledged 10 billion dollars towards vaccines this decade, a billion dollars dedicated to each year. The money was intended to fund research, develop and deliver vaccines for the world’s poorest countries.

How Health Policy in Impoverished Nations is Shaped

by the Gates Foundation and Private Industry

At first glance, it seems like a good thing that wealthy people mak...

In essence, society’s attention has become focused on vaccination, focused solely on this health treatment. But TREATMENT is not what creates health, treatment is what changes or manages a persons’ symptoms of poor health. Instead of focusing solely on the treatment, there needs to be a shift. We need to evaluate the treatment in the context of the whole - what is working about the treatment? What needs improving? What is failing completely? How does the treatment affect evolution of the species? And how can health be supported moving forward so that the treatment is no longer needed?
